Porsche 911 Sport Classic - 997.2

When Porsche released in 2010 a special model like the 997.2 Porsche 911 Sport Classic it grabs the attention of true Porsche fans and collectors. It will always cause the negative people in the car World to makes comments about the car and the price and this is because they simply don't have the 911 in their hearts.

The sports classic was Porsche’s first attempt at a retro-look 911 and when it was launched in 2009 they limited the production build 250 units and obviously these sole instantly. The model was based on a humble Carrera S with a huge number of options added pushing the price to £137,529 more than the 997 Turbo.

The 911 Sport Classic is built on a mixture of the 997 Carrera S but using the wider rear fenders of the Carrera 4S giving it a more bodybuilder like stance.

Visually, the Sport Classic was designed with a unique front spoiler and a fixed ducktail spoiler which was based on the beloved 1973 Carrera RS 2.7.

To finish the classic look 19" five-spoke alloys, styled after the Fuchs rims of vintage Porsches and some say these are perhaps the most gorgeous wheels on any modern production car.

Porsche unveiled the Sports Classic at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto show which helped sell nearly all 250 units.

The engine is rated at 407 bhp and features a newly developed resonance intake manifold with 6 vacuum-controlled switching flaps.

The Sports Classic was built with a 6-speed manual transmission and the interior was extra special with Porsche Exclusive woven leather seats and door panels, dashboard with Espresso Nature natural leather upholstery.

The exterior colour was unique also using a specially developed Sport Classic Grey body colour.
